SERVING THE UNITED KINGDOM & EUROPE
The GDW European Division specializes in the weaving, distribution and fabrication of a comprehensive line of wire mesh and wire products. Together with other GDW Divisions, we are part of the largest wire cloth supplier in the world.
GDW European Division Ireland
Our location in Ireland acts as the GDW group distribution center for Europe, and GDW European Division products are easily and efficiently distributed in North America through GDW divisions in the United States.
Modern automatic looms are in operation. They are constantly modernized and improved. Through the years GDW European Division has become an organization of trained, experienced personnel with the product knowledge necessary to supply customers with the quality and performance they demand. Our engineers stand ready to offer advice and service to our customers. In addition,
GDW European Division offers cutting, slitting, stamping, fabricating, ultrasonic cleaning and air flow testing (Rayl). Coupled with the capabilities of our other GDW divisions we offer calendaring, heat treatment, welding and special coatings upon request. Other products available include galvanized hardware cloth, stainless steel welded wire cloth, hex netting, insect screen, perforated metals, expanded metals, screen print and architectural wire meshes.
Being part of the GDW group of companies enables us to concentrate on high quality standards and technically advanced meshes and obliges us to give every customer the best product and service required.

Woven Wire Cloth consists of wires crossing each other, thus forming the shape and size of the apertures. The transverse weft wires are woven into the longitudinal warp wires on looms similar to those used in the textile industry. The weaving reed controls the distances between the warp wires, the weft wires are determined by the pre-setting of the weaving machine. The cross over and under of each wire cause the wires to be crimped, resulting in a firm and stable interconnection of the mesh. The weft wires are also known as shute, shoot, cross or fill wires.
Woven Wire Cloth is the only medium having exactly equal and controlled apertures together with a big open area and good physical and chemical properties. Due to its precision, wire cloth is the ideal media for sieving, filtering, and printing as well as many other specialized applications. With the right metallic alloy the corrosion resistance is excellent and the tensile strength and the physical properties are superior. Besides the normal square meshes many other variations and different weaves can be woven. Therefore, the applications for wire cloth seem to be unlimited. For your selection of the optimal wire cloth, please ask for a consultation.
GDW/European Division concentrates on wire cloth woven from metallic alloys. Other alloys are available, however, the alloys for standard meshes are AISI 304 L (DIN 1.4306) and AISI 316 L (DIN 1.4404).
Weavers of fine and ultrafine wire cloth in stainless steel and other corrosion resistant alloys. Wire mesh for noise attenuation in jet engine nacelles. Caul screens for OSB and particle board manufacturing. Filtration and lightening strike protection applications.
Other services include slitting, annealing, and distribution of the largest inventory of meshes and alloys in the U.K. and Europe.
